
Wow, this StateStats site is cool for data nerds. You give it a search term (say, Rush Limbaugh) and it finds out from Google how frequently that term is searched for in each US state. It then compares that ranked listing of US states to other ranked lists such as unemployment and measures the correlation between the two. Here are the results for Rush Limbaugh.
Nothing earth shattering: states that rank higher in searches for good ol’ Rush also tend to rank higher in Bush voting.
I wonder if the correlation between Rush searching and Suicide means that it will necessarily be a short lived phenomenon. Hrm, infant mortality is right up there as well.
Important Conclusions: If you value your life, the life of your children or your income, STOP searching for Rush Limbaugh on Google. (brought to you by NBC’s, “The more you know.” Not really.)
