Auth
Authorization… or is it Authentication? One relates to identity and the other relates to permission granted to the holder of that identity. But SOOO many people confuse the words, and worse, use them interchangeably, that I have chosen to strike them from my vocabulary in favor of:
IDENTITY: as in, you have been positively Identified. Some form of this word will replace all cases of Authentication; and
PERMISSION: as in, this IDENTITY is PERMITTED access to the evidence locker. Some form of this word will replace all cases of Authorization.
Here ends the world’s confusion with Auth systems. Get on board, or get out of the way.
