This is what I get for tempting waving my middle finger at fate. The full restore took 1 hour 20 mins (not bad!) for all 100GB. I won’t tell you how I so totally horked my MBP such that it required booting from DVD, I’m supposed to know better.

I will say that the restore process was the most painless that I’ve used in a LONG time.
