Leopard’s Time Machine is certainly the most useful backup application that I’ve ever used.

However…

If you do manage to dump several GB worth of data onto your hard drive, it takes quite a bit of time, even over a FW 800 link. And while this massive update is going on, any other of your applications that you’re using get to compete with Time Machine for disk i/o. This prompted me to to turn it off for a while so that I could get some things done quickly, and I almost forgot to turn it back on… since I anticipate this kind of thing will happen from time to time, I’m going to come up with a nag of some sort to remind me to turn it back on if it’s off for time.
